Creating a New Opportunity

This article details the steps for creating a New Opportunity. To learn more about Opportunities, see [Understanding Opportunities].

To begin creating a New Opportunity, do either of the following:

  • Click the circled plus (⊕) located along to top of the Klaus Connect. Then choose ✨ Create Opportunity.

  • Open the Opportunity tab. Click the red New Opportunity button located on the far right of the page.

You will now see a window titled New Opportunity with three sections; Contact, Property, and Services & source.

1. Contact

The contact is the individual who reached out or will be having work done, and will usually be the primary person to contact for the rest of the job. Input the following information to your best ability.

  • First name

    • If you are not given the Opportunity contact's first name, enter the following: X

  • Last name

    • If you are not given the Opportunity contact's last name, enter the following: X

  • Email

    • If you are not given the Opportunity contact's email, you may leave the field blank.

  • Phone

    • A phone number must be recorded to create an opportunity.

    • Do not include the Country Calling Code, usually +1. For instance, if the number is +1 (401)-600-0070, you would only enter (401)-600-0070

    • Parenthesis and dash formatting is optional. You may enter: 4016000070

Adding an additional contact is optional. To add an additional contact, click the grey switch button opposite Additional contact. For more information about adding an additional contact in a New Opportunity, see Adding an Additional Contact to a New Opportunity.

2. Property

The property is the address at which the work will be completed. Input the following information to your best ability.

  • Search address

    • Begin typing the address and valid address options should begin to appear listed below the field. Click the matching address if it appears there and the address fields will auto populate. If the matching address does not appear, continue entering the full address.

  • Property Class

    • Residential buildings are buildings, typically houses, owned by an individual. Commercial buildings are buildings owned by businesses, organizations or association.

    • If it is a Commercial building, you will need to enter the Business name in the Company field of the Contact section.

  • Property type

    • If the property type information is unavailable to you, you may ignore this field and leave it set to Select a type...

  • Billing same as property

    • For homes where the billing information should be sent to the same address that is having the work done, leave the green switch button enabled as it is.

    • If the billing information should be sent to an address different than the one having the work done, click the green switch button so it becomes grey.

    • In the Search billing address field, enter the billing address.

3. Services and source

The services and source section is where you select the service type, input the lead source category, and file relevant notes.

  • Looking for

    • Select any and all options that apply to the Opportunity. Selected items will appear green.

  • LEAD SOURCE CATEGORY

  • LEAD SOURCE CATEGORY

  • Notes

    • Any relevant information pertaining to the service requests, roof or gutter condition and age, factors that may impact the job, customer preferences, or any other noteworthy context at your discretion should be included in notes.

Once all the aforementioned fields have been filled to your best ability, click the green + Create Opportunity button in the bottom right corner of the New Opportunity window.

To cancel creating a the New Opportunity, click the 𝗫 in the top right corner of the New Opportunity window. Note: It will not save a draft and any information entered for that Opportunity will be lost.

To clear all fields in the New Opportunity window, click the words Clear form located in the bottom left of the New Opportunity window. Note: It will immediately remove all content in the completed fields and there is no option to undo.
