What this page is for:
The company catalog for building estimates: reusable templates, priced components, materials, vendors, measurement formulas, and waste factors. It is not where you write a customer estimate. That is Create Estimate on an opportunity.
Where: Admin Console → Estimate Library (/portal/products/product-management)
Breadcrumb: Administrative → Estimate Library
Page title: Estimate Library | Klaus Connect
Admin card (Operations → Production): Estimate Library — “Templates, components, materials, vendors, measurements and waste factors.”
Needs admin_console.estimate_library.view (Super Admin bypasses).
Steps:
Open Admin Console and click Estimate Library.
Use the left nav groups: Estimate Builder, Materials & BOM, Inventory & Procurement, Measurements.
Each item opens a module in the main card. The header title can differ from the sidebar name (quoted in each article below).
Where the header shows a create button (
+ New Template,+ New Component, …), that opens a create form — not a tab on an existing record.
Document Templates exists in code (doctpl, header would be Document Templates) but is not in the current left nav. Do not hunt for it in the sidebar.
Templates
What this page is for:
Reusable job scopes. Each template is an ordered list of components (and, through those, materials). Use this list to find, reorder, and open a template. Creating is a separate screen.
Where: Estimate Library → Templates
Header: Templates — “Reusable job scopes. Each template bundles an ordered list of components.”
Steps:
Open Templates.
Search with Search templates.... Use Grid / List.
Filter the left CLASSIFICATION list (All plus tags from company services). Drag a classification to reorder tags; drag a template card to reorder templates in the current filter.
Empty filter: No templates found for this filter.
Click + New Template to create (see New Template).
Click a template to open Template detail.
New Template
What this page is for:
Create one estimate template (name, classification, commission, markup, cover image, and starting components). After save, later work is on Template detail.
Where: Templates → + New Template
Heading: New Template
Steps:
Click + New Template.
Under Template info, fill Name * (placeholder Template name).
Set Classification (from Company Services; — Select classification —).
Optionally set Commission (%) and Markup (%).
Optionally add a Profile image (hint: Optional cover image). Use Clear to drop a chosen file.
Under Component order, click + New component to pick existing components. Empty: No components added yet. Click "+ New component" to add. Use Remove on a row. Clear clears the picker selection in that flow.
Cancel or ← Back to templates discards. Save Template (or Saving...) creates the template.
Template detail
What this page is for:
The saved template: components in order, materials that flow in through BOMs, and which contract template is linked. Tabs here are not Create.
Where: Templates → click a template
Steps:
Open a template. Header actions include Edit template.
Read Classification, Markup, Commission, Created.
Used contract shows the linked contract name, or No contract linked. Click the contract name to jump to that contract template.
Components tab: ordered list. + Add component adds more. Empty: No components in this template yet. Drag to reorder.
Materials tab: unique materials from component BOMs. Empty: No materials linked through component BOM yet.
Removing a component from the template uses Remove Material → Remove (modal). That removes it from this template; it does not delete the component from the catalog.
Edit Template
What this page is for:
Change the template’s title, classification, commission, markup, and linked contract. It is a modal on an existing template, not the create form.
Where: Template detail → Edit template
Modal title: Edit Template
Steps:
Click Edit template.
Edit Template Title, Classification, Sales Commission (%), Markup Cost (%), and Contract Template (— No contract linked — or a named template).
Cancel or Save Changes.
Permanent delete uses the Delete Template modal (Delete Template confirm). That cannot be undone.
Components
What this page is for:
The catalog of priced scope building blocks (materials, services, terms, disclaimers, other). Attach materials on the component’s BOM tab after the record exists.
Where: Estimate Library → Components
Header: Components Catalog — “Pricing and scope building blocks. Attach materials to drive BOM and ordering.”
Steps:
Open Components.
Search Search by name, category.... Toggle Grid / List.
Filter CLASSIFICATION then the category column (All / named categories / Unmatched).
Turn on Show inactive to include components deactivated by library cleanup.
Export CSV exports every component (all columns).
Click + New Component to create.
Click a card/row to open Component detail.
Trash control: Delete component (confirm Delete component?). That deletes the catalog item, not just a template link.

What this page is for:
Create one component (identity and default pricing). BOM, location pricing, and media are on Component detail after it exists.
Where: Components Catalog → + New Component
Heading: New Component
Steps:

Pricing tab → Pricing logic (Pricing driver), Base Pricing · Default Location, Pricing by location. Use Apply to all locations to copy base pricing to branches. Save a location row with Save location price or Save changes.
Descriptions: Material description, Contract / scope of work, Additional description sources.
BOM: Bill of materials. Search Search materials... then Add material. Empty: No materials linked to this component yet. Preferred vendor rows can sync pricing. Remove from BOM removes a line. Edit BOM Item → Save changes.
Media → Component media (images or videos) and Library. Save desc saves a media description.
